Architect and interior design for the renovation - a commercial to hospitality change of use

The Urban Collective Hotel is a new sustainable boutique hotel refurbishment and interior design in Kreuzberg Berlin, Germany. It is a retrofit project, prioritizing refurbishment over demolition.

The client owns a concrete-frame office building which has the potential to be converted into a boutique hotel for a new generation of digital nomads, who are savvy and environmentally conscious. The project brings together the challenge of resolving the change of use to an existing structure, and creating a stunning lobby as a new destination for the vibrant city of Berlin.

The hotel’s 36 rooms are suited for short to medium term stay, and included a combination of small suites to studios that faces the internal garden. The hotel room interiors are lined with timber frame, creating warmth and comfort.
