Full interior design, renovation and refurbishment of a Mews house in Sloane Square Conservation Area.

Polysmiths was appointed to undertake a full interior renovation and refurbishment of a mews house in Sloane Square SW3, Kensington & Chelsea London. The house is within a Conservation Area.

We were commissioned by a Private Client to create a home for flexible living in a narrow mews house in Chelsea. Keen to explore concepts of ‘wabi-sabi’, the house employs numerous design technique to conceal utilities, so that large flexible continuous spaces can be achieved for living, entertaining, and working.

Natural and textured materials were used to create contrast between spaces, including use of clay plaster, japanese sugi ban, wood and natural stone cladding. The house is suited for minimalist living.
