Full renovation and refurbishment of an art gallery within a Listed Building.

Polysmiths has been appointed by a private client, an art collector specialising in African painting and sculptures, to design and project manage the refurbishment and renovation of the art gallery and office, housed within a Listed Building in South Kensington, Kensington and Chelsea, West London.

The art gallery interior design idea aims to clarify flow of movement for the public, to facilitate a clearer narrative flow for future gallery shows. New screens and rails are added to declutter the interior, so the Listed building features shines through.

A bespoke designed overhead pendant lamp gives a sense of arrival at the entrance. A new office, with a meeting room, is also designed using solid walnut timber frame.
